Cancellation or early closing of Chestnut Preschool due to inclement weather will be dictated by the decision of Newport News Public Schools.

Closings

If Newport News Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, then Chestnut Memorial Preschool will also be closed.

Delays

If the City of Newport News Public Schools announces that their schools will have a delayed opening by one or two hours, Chestnut Memorial Preschool will open at our regularly scheduled time.

Closings & delays can be found on local news stations, the Newport News Public Schools website or we will post updates on our group Facebook page, as soon as possible.

Days missed out of the regular school calendar due to weather or other unforeseen reasons will not be made up.
